Mythologie Candles: Fantastic Packaging for a Growing Brand
Building a Legendary Brand
Mythologie Candles began in 2019 as the passion project of owner Leah McHenry when the musician decided to launch a fantasy-inspired candle collection to accompany the release of her 5th studio album. Today, the company offers a variety of individual candles and gift sets through their e-commerce website.
Each candle is designed to evoke a rich fantasy world, brought to life through engaging packaging design. The brand leverages product labels and full-color boxes to create an immersive customer experience and sell their products at a premium price.
From Passion Project to Production
Like many entrepreneurs, Leah launched Mythologie Candles in her home. However, her vision for the product was never to appear "homemade." She was developing a professional product and needed the packaging to reflect the quality and care poured into each glass vessel.
Mythologie Candles is also a theme-driven brand. Limited editions and new collection launches are core to the company's marketing strategy. As such, packaging needs to be updated on a regular basis, and order quantities are not identical for every production run.
As companies scale, entrepreneurs frequently find it diffcult to project how many labels and boxes they will need to complete future orders. Making the move from being home-based to a professional production warehouse in early 2020, Mythologie Candles needed a packaging partner who could offer flexible solutions that would grow with demand.
Delivering The Total Package
When it comes to online retail, packaging is a key driver of sales success and customer satisfaction. The BoxMaker provides Mythologie Candles with full-color folding cartons, corrugated boxes, and digitally printed product labels that reflect the theme of each unique candle and deliver a delightful experience to every customer, enhancing the perceived value of the product.
Additionally, The BoxMaker offers the company scalability by warehousing Mythologie Candles' boxes in our Bellingham, WA distribution center and providing them on an as-needed basis to the client.
Customers who purchase Mythologie Candles have reported that they love the packaging and don't want to recycle it — keeping it to use again and again.
The Journey Continues
In 2021, Mythologie Candles projects to grow sales five times over their 2020 revenue. They plan on moving into a larger facility and are looking ahead to partner with The BoxMaker on a threshold-based inventory program where production automatically restocks their packaging supplies when available volume becomes low.
